LaRee Allen Minor (September 5, 1934 - October 7, 2011) - Janis LaRee Allen Minor slipped peacefully from her mortal life in the comfort of her Orem home Friday, October 7. She’s now reunited with her husband & eternal companion Milton Minor; the couple met as students at BYU where both were entertainers in the Program Bureau. LaRee is survived by a brother and a sister, Dean & Barbara, and by sons Mikel (his wife Teresa) and Marc (his wife Brenda), as well as grandchildren Allen, Cory, Marissa, Madilyn, Mikaela, Chelsie, Alyssa, Braden, and Jaycie. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Suncrest Ward Chapel at 150 North 400 West in Orem. A viewing for family & friends will be held at the same location Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m., and again Wednesday morning 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. LaRee’s bountiful life is distinguished by devotion to family and church service, as well as generous assistance to anyone in need. Born September 5, 1934 in Provo, LaRee Allen attended B.Y. High graduated in the Class of 1952 before enrolling at BYU where she also served in secretarial roles including assistant to the Dean of Nursing. A talented dancer, LaRee performed in BYU shows where she met husband Milt – an MC & comedian. Married in the Logan Temple, the family moved to Southern California after graduation where son Mikel was born, then to Nampa, Idaho where son Marc was born. LaRee & Milt also lived in Vancouver, WA until Milt passed in 1993. LaRee then moved to her current home in Orem. LaRee maintained an active & energetic lifestyle -- traveling, playing golf, and dancing. She was a member & officer of the Hobble Creek Women’s Golf Association. And for many years she was a member of the popular Jean’s Golden Girls dance troop – traveling nationwide and performing at high-profile venues including NBA and college sports events. She also held membership positions in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was past president of Utah Sorosis – a literary society. Yet LaRee’s greatest pleasure was her unlimited devotion to family and to her faith. She served tirelessly in numerous LDS Church callings including temple worker. And she enjoyed nothing more than gathering with her family – particularly at holidays or special occasions when she would prepare and cook delicious meals & treats with remarkable culinary expertise. Though she has passed from earthly concerns of illness and discomfort, LaRee’s love & shining example will linger always to lift and inspire us all – her friends & family – until we are reunited again. He was a member of Retriever Club in the Great Salt Lake area and in the Northern Utah area. After his retirement, he sold real estate in Provo, and raised Field Trial Retrievers. Viva Brown Stanger, 63, of Provo died Monday, December 1, 1997 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. She was born January 10, 1934 in Colonia Chuichupe, Chichuahua Mexico (Mormon Colonies in Mexico), the daughter of Delbert Brigham and Irene Whetten Brown. She married Ronald Ray Stanger on October 4, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 12, 1994. When she was ten years old her family moved to the United States, living in first Arizona, then in Colorado, and finally settling in Provo, Utah in 1947. She attended the Farrer Junior High School and graduated from BY High. She also attended Brigham Young University. She worked with her husband Ron in his law practice in Provo for some 30 years. Viva was a homemaker and mother of five children. Her hobbies included music, gardening, scrapbooking, family history, and devoting countless hours to her family and church. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities including ward music leader and primary president. Survivors include four sons and one daughter: Ronald Allen Stanger, David Craig Stanger, Michael Ray Stanger, Robert Brown Stanger, Diane S. P. (Pat) Richan, BYH Class of 1948. After Pat taught in Salt Lake City and received his Master's Degree in geography from the University of Utah, they moved to West Covina, California. After having five children, they moved to Greeley, Colorado, where Pat received his doctor's degree in geography. Two more children were added to their family, totaling seven children. They then settled in Provo, Utah, where Pat taught at Utah Valley Community College and Joan worked as Administrative Assistant to the Dean. Joan retired in 1998 and Pat retired in 2002. In 2002, Joan and Pat served a Humanitarian mission in Romania. Served another full-time mission in 2008 and 2009. Currently have 28 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. St. George, Utah – Frederic Partridge "Pat" Richan, age 88, passed away on July 17, 2018 following complications from hip surgery. He was born on October 7, 1929 to Raymond Buckley Richan and Ruth Louise Partridge in Provo, Utah. He met his eternal companion, Joan Bullock [BYH Class of 1952], in Provo, Utah, and was married on November 20, 1953 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Pat grew up in Provo, where he attended school at the Brigham Young University School from kindergarten through high school, graduating in the Class of 1948. He attended BYU, graduating in 1952 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He also received a Master’s Degree from the University of Utah in 1957 and a Doctorate of Arts Degree in Geography from University of Northern Colorado in 1976. Pat was active in the LDS Church where he served as a high councilor, bishopric counselor, stake missionary, and twice a full-time missionary in Romania and Santa Rosa, California. He served for nine years in the Utah National Guard, 13 years in the Kiwanis Club, and many years in the Sons of Utah Pioneers. Pat loved to teach and spent the early part of his career teaching elementary school in Salt Lake City and West Covina, California and night school at local community colleges. He worked in continuing education at BYU for many years and has been a life-long BYU football fan. Pat found his dream job at Utah Valley University as a Professor of History, Geography, and Geology. He retired in 2002. Pat loved to travel, camp, and visit national parks. He enjoyed movies, music, and locomotive trains. He loved to spend time with his large family. Darrell was born in Meadow, Utah on March 7, 1934 to Daniel D. and Melba Stott Bushnell. Darrell spent his childhood in Provo, Utah. Darrell attended Brigham Young High School, graduating in the Class of 1952. He then attended and graduated from Brigham Young University. On August 19, 1953, he married Marjorie Killpack, BYH Class of 1953, in the Salt Lake City Temple. After they had been married less than a year, Darrell was called on a two-year mission for the LDS Church in Melbourne, Australia. Later, he and Marjorie served a mission in Baltimore, Maryland. Darrell spent his career as a real estate broker and developer from 1958 to 2016. He was a well-loved mentor and friend. He was Realtor of the Year in 1975. He was president of the Utah County Board of Realtors, and later president of the Utah State Association of Realtors. Darrell was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved teaching the Gospel and served in many callings including Bishop, High Counselor and member of a Stake Presidency. He was a wonderful home-teacher and never missed his monthly visits. Darrell was survived by his eternal sweetheart Marjorie K. Bushnell and children, Mike Bushnell (Holly), Debbie Morley (Craig), Sherri Peterson (Kelly) and Sandi Bushnell, 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mary Louise Clark Perry and her husband, Bob Perry, served in the Armenia Yerevan mission in 2005-2006. ~ ~ ~ ~ Her parents: Harold Glen Clark and Virginia Louise Driggs. Harold G. Clark was born June 11, 1902 in Mesa, Arizona. His parents were Joseph William Clark and Mary Adeline Noble Clark. He married Virginia Louise Driggs on June 26, 1929, in Mesa, Arizona. She was born on July 29, 1909 in Driggs, Idaho. She died on March 16, 1950, in Provo, Utah. Together they had six children: Carol Jean Clark, Harold Glen Clark (Jr), Mary Louise Clark (Bob) Perry, Donald Driggs Clark, Virginia Lynn Clark, and Joseph William Clark. Following the death of Virgina Louise Driggs Clark, he married Mary Deane Peterson Gilbert on December 20, 1950 in the Mesa, Arizona temple for time. His parents were Richard Warner Davidson and Bertha Rae Bohn. He died on June 8, 1999, in Mapleton, Utah. ~ ~ ~ ~ HIS OBITUARY: Richard Bohn Davidson of Mapleton passed on at 4 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 1999, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Richard was born June 18, 1934, in Huntington Park, California, son of Bertha B. Davidson and Richard Warner Davidson. Richard graduated from Brigham Young High School in the Class of 1952. He received his B.A. in Math at UCLA. At Brigham Young University, he completed his masters in physics and his doctorate in organic chemistry. He worked for a time on research grants at Hiroshima, Japan, and Fort Collins, Colorado. He also assisted in research carried on at BYU. His interests included writing his own computer programs, composing beautiful classical music for piano and string quartet, vocal arranging, painting (mostly portrait art), bee keeping and throwing unique pottery. He became a licensed pilot and an extra classic Amateur Radio Operator (Ham Radio). He participated in folk dancing and performed with the UCLA Israeli Folk Dance Troupe. His interests in gardening was expressed in his maintaining and improving the family property. Richard studied a variety of languages over his lifetime including, Spanish, German, Indonesian, Japanese and Hebrew. With the passing of his father in 1987, he became caretaker of his aging mother, who was a teacher in the BYU Elementary Training School for many years. He continued taking care of his mother until the day of her passing in February of this year [1999] even when he himself became ill. Richard played the piano for priesthood meetings; was a beloved home teacher and a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having completed a mission for the Church to Texas and California, teaching Spanish-speaking people. He maintained a personal journal for many years and was an avid genealogist. He is survived by his sisters, Audrey Colleen Davidson and Joan LaRae Davidson Haskins and his brother, Warren Edwin Davidson, who will greatly miss their dear brother. Dix Bennett Davis, 82, passed away on August 30, 2016 in Cedar Hills, Utah. Born on August 16, 1934 in Provo, Utah to Dewain LeRoy and Marcelene Bennett Davis. He graduated from Brigham Young High School in the Class of 1952. He married Marjorie Rae Hatfield in Springville, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dix worked for Geneva Steel. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings, especially the 17 years as a temple worker at the Mount Timpanogos Temple. He had many hobbies including: gardening, bowler, archery, antique bottle hunting and was a great athlete. Marjorie was born on February 24, 1936 in Springville, Utah. She was the first of seven children born to Woodrow and Raynor Hatfield. Marjorie graduated from Springville High School in 1954. She married Dix B. Davis [BYH Class of 1952] on July 16, 1954 in Springville. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 5, 1964 and are the proud parents of six children. Marjorie's love for her family took precedence above all else and their comfort and well being was of the utmost importance to her. She always had a "twinkle" in her eye when she spoke of her children and her grandchildren. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the Gospel. She served in many callings in the Church including Primary, Relief Society President and Counselor. She served in the Mount Timpanogos Temple for many years with her husband and cherished that calling dearly. Marjorie was a talented and gifted artist and passed those talents on to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watercolors the most. She was an accomplished seamstress. She designed and created her own wedding dress while in high school. She was the costume designer and creator for the Utah Pageant of the Arts for 17 years. Marjorie worked for the LDS Church at the Church Office Building, evaluating film from all over the world. She had a great love of Genealogy and could always be found searching diligently for her ancestors. She enjoyed creative writing and poetry and wrote many poems. She was loved by all who knew her. Marjorie's sweet countenance and humble spirit will truly be missed. Marjorie is survived by her husband, Dix, of 52 years and her six children, Kennyon Davis, Bryan (Amy) Davis, Denise (Doug) Baird, Kyle Davis (Karen), Danual (Cathy) Davis, Randall (Kati) Davis, 25 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Dennis Hatfield, Ron Hatfield, 3 sisters Joyce Hatfield Leamaster, Connie Hatfield Childs and Laurie Hatfield Crandall. She is preceded in death by her parents, a younger brother and a grandson. Funeral Services were held Wednesday on June 13, 2007 in the American Fork 26th Ward Chapel, 975 N. 60 E., American Fork, Utah.
