Nita Black married J. Ross Farrer of Springville, Utah, on September 27, 1941, in Nevada. J. Ross Farrer was born August 20, 1917 and died on September 20, 1952, of a gunshot wound. His interment, Mountain View Cemetery, Beaver, Utah. Nita Black Farrer died on September 29, 1994 in Springville, Utah. Her interment, Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah.

Class of 1938. Vernal Black. Basketball. Drama. Married LaRae M. ~ ~ ~ ~ HIS OBITUARY: Vernal J. Black, 92, of Sandy, died September 26, 2013. He was born to the late William Shirley and Verna Johnson Black, January 8, 1921 in Ammon, Idaho. Vern graduated from Brigham Young High School, Provo, in 1938. He served in the US Navy Aug 1942 to May 1946. He completed a BS degree in accounting at Brigham Young University, in 1947. He was employed as an accountant at Standard Oil and Pepsi Cola. Vernal was married to Wanda Cummings Black (deceased) and to LaRee Matthews Black, his partner for 36 years. He is also survived by children: John Black (Seattle, Washington); Kathleen (Christopher) Gamble (Salt Lake City, Utah); and Lisa (Robert) Bruce (Hansville, Washington). He had 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Richard (Judy) Black (Eugene, Oregon); and siblings: William Shirley Black Jr; Karl Black; Nyta Giles; LaVeive Breckenridge; Maurice Black; and Herman Black. Vern was a gentle, intelligent man. He loved oil painting Utah landscapes, teaching oil painting at senior centers, and fishing with his small boat on Strawberry Reservoir. He also enjoyed playing tennis, shooting pool, and skiing. A graveside service was held Monday, September 30, 2013 at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 East 10600 South Sandy, Utah. Her parents are James S. Blake and Hanna D. Blake. Lois graduated from Brigham Young High School in Provo, Utah, in the Class of 1917. Lois married Morgan Wilford "Bill" Lewis on December 13, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lois and Bill were both 21 years old. Morgan was born on July 25, 1897 in Kamas, Utah. The parents of Morgan Wilford Lewis are Daniel B. Lewis and Mercy H. Laucbest Lewis. Lois and Bill Lewis had four children. Lois Lewis died on February 18, 1969. Her interment, Marion Cemetery, Kamas, Summit County, Utah. Morgan passed away on June 9 1973, at age 81. His interment, also Marion Cemetery, Kamas, Utah.

Our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Mary Esther Blake Finster, passed away at home on May 29, 2017. Mary was born on November 17, 1929 in Wilmington, North Carolina to Alonzo and Esther Blake. She was much loved by her parents and older siblings. At a young age, after the death of her mother, she went to live with close family friends. After graduating from Brigham Young High School in the Class of 1949, she went to stay with a sister in California. While she was there she met Joseph Lym. They married and had 4 children. She later divorced, then met and married Roy Finster. Mary loved her family and friends and in later years enjoyed having friends stop by to sit on her front porch and visit. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings through the years and loved going to the temple. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Billy, Bernard and Earl Blake, her husband Roy and son David Lym. She is survived by her son, Kenny Lym, daughter Terri (Randy) Sorenson of Sandy, daughter Nancy Lym and Danny of Sandy, daughter-in-law Terry Lym of Bluffdale and her sister, Rose Zincone in Virginia. She is also survived by stepchildren George (Mary) Finster, Judy Paddock, Tom (Annette) Finster and Lori Frandsen and by almost 50 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary will be missed by all who knew her. Her family is comforted by the knowledge that they will be with her again. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the Old Mission Ward, 1433 Old Mission Road (7930 South), Sandy, Utah. [Deseret News, June 4, 2017]
