OBITUARY: Erma Warnick Andrus, age 82, died Saturday, July 19, 1997 in Orem. She was born Dec. 26, 1914, in Provo, Utah, a daughter of Frederick G. and Clara Black Warnick. She married A. LaMar Andrus on Nov. 29 1941, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died, March 5, 1990. She received her education in Provo, Utah, graduating from Brigham Young High School. She attended and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1934 with a bachelors degree in Accounting and Business Practice. She received a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Utah in 1946. She was employed by the Utah County Department of Child Welfare from 1941 until 1948. She worked as a case worker in child welfare and adoption. She retired to raise her family. She was a member of the LDS Church, Provo 9th Ward. She was constantly active in many callings in the Provo 5th, 9th and Manavu Wards serving as Relief Society president, Young Women's president and often as a teacher, a position in which she was especially gifted. She served for many years as a record-keeper in the Provo LDS Temple. She researched and wrote a history of the Manavu Ward, having lived in or near that area of Provo all of her life. She was an active member and teacher in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers -- she was always very proud of her heritage and thought it important to pass that pride on to her children and family. Erma was very active with her family. She was close to each of her, and her husband's brothers and sisters and their families. She always kept track of what they were doing and where they lived. It was important to her to know as much about her ancestors as possible and she did a tremendous amount of genealogical research and attended family reunions. She is survived by her two sons, Newton W. (Kristine) Andrus, [BYH Class of 1960] of Orem, and Joseph L. (Holly) Andrus [BYH Class of 1967] of Potomac, Maryland; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul E. Warnick, Walnut Creek, California and Carl G. Warnick, Sierra Madre, California; and one sister, Beth Warnick Gray, Pomphret, Connecticut. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services were held in Provo. Burial was in the Provo City Cemetery. [Published in the Deseret News, Tuesday, July 29, 1997.] ~ ~ ~ ~ Her parents: Frederick G. Our dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Veloy Washburn Hansen, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2012 surrounded by her family. Born September 16, 1935 in Blanding, Utah, to Alvin Lavell and Wasel Black Washburn, she was the ninth of ten children. Her family later moved to Provo, Utah where she graduated from BY High School in the Class of 1954. Veloy attended Brigham Young University where she met the love of her life, Ray Hansen. Veloy and Ray were married in the Salt Lake City temple on June 13, 1957. Veloy loved to sing, to dance, to read; she loved the ballet and the arts. Most of all, she loved to hold and rock her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sing them songs and tell them stories. Her family was the focus of her life. Veloy was a devoted and remarkable mother who found great joy in creating a loving and welcoming home. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions. She loved the temple and served as a temple worker for a number of years; most recently in the Oquirrh Mountain temple. Veloy is survived by her husband Ray, and her 11 children Don, Ron, Jon, Kimball, Randall, Darlyn, McKay, Chelynn, Mary Jo, Sheri and Shannan, 54 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11 am at the Hamilton Ridge Stake Center, 5562 West 13680 South, Herriman, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday evening August 24 from 6 to 8pm at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, Riverton, Utah and on Saturday morning at the Stake Center from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the services. www.broomheadfuneralhome.com [Deseret News, August 23, 2012]

He second married Annie Jane Parks McConnell on September 20, 1895 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Andrew Watson died on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1908, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
