Clarence Stewart Jones of Los Altos, California, passed away in Santa Clara, California on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 of complications of heart disease. He was born in Rigby, Idaho on August 21, 1926. He was raised in Provo, Utah, where he graduated from Brigham Young High School in the Class of 1944. Clarence enjoyed an illustrious career as an engineer, businessman and entrepreneur and was instrumental in starting two companies in the Silicon Valley: ESL Inc., and ADAC Laboratories. He also served on the board of directors of several companies, including Quantic Industries, and Space Power, and held many patents. He was a devoted husband of 56 years and a loving father and grandfather. He was active in the Los Altos Heritage Oaks Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He rendered service to many and was a generous philanthropist. Clarence is survived by his wife, Meredith Hanseen Jones; brothers R. Bruce Jones (Carol) of El Dorado Hills, California; Jerry Jones (Calleen) and Ronald Jones (Judy) of Orem, Utah; son Randall C. Jones of Ashland, Oregon; daughter Marjean Livingston (Clyde) of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter Susan Garside (Blake) of Oceanside, California; six grandchildren and three spouses and three great-grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, March 12, 2005 in Los Altos, California. Friends and family gathered for graveside services on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery at 1997 S. 400 E., Springville, Utah. Dennis Frank Jones, age 78, died at home on February 2, 2021 of cancer. He was born October 27, 1942 in Logan, Utah to Frank Worley Jones, Jr. and Eileen Naylor Jones. He graduated from Brigham Young High School in Provo in the Class of 1960. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Following high school graduation, he served two years on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Gulf States Mission (Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, western Tennessee and south eastern Missouri). He also served eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve. Honorably discharged in 1980. Dennis started his career working for Wells Fargo Bank as a commercial lending officer in San Francisco, California. He then moved to Denver to manage the investment portfolios for Western Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company and five related casualty companies. The last 40 years of his career was in investment banking putting together bond financings. His favorite clients were Safeway Stores, PGA Tour and Christian Living Communities. The majority of the latter part of his career was focused on bond financing of healthcare and affordable housing facilities. Dennis was recently appointed by Governor Polis to the Board of Directors of Colorado Health Facilities Authority. He has also served for 12 years on the Board of Directors of Christian Living Corp. and six years on the Board of Marycrest Assisted Living Corp. (three years as Chairman). He is survived by his wife, Rickie and his five children, Dr. Kristin Tarbet (Frank), Denice Allen (Craig), Bradley Dennis Jones (Lisa), McKenzie Jones (Anthony Smith) and stepson, Christopher Philipp. He has four grandchildren, Connor Tarbet, Jack & Lydia Jones and Ella Lynn Smith. He is also survived by his brother, Scott Worley Jones, his wife Shannon and their four children. He was born in Provo, Utah on December 12, 1927 to Arthur Theone Jones and Minnie Crawford Jones. He married Mary June Harkness on May 20, 1948 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Donald was born in Provo, Utah after which his family moved to Morgan, Utah and then Baggs, Wyoming where he started grade school. They advanced him 3 grades within the first year. The family then moved to Lindon, Utah where he finished grammar school, then attended Brigham Young High School until his sophomore year. They moved to Thomas, Idaho where he finished high school, graduating as valedictorian at the age of 15. He spent 1 year at Ricks College and 1 year at Utah State University. Following his father's death in the summer of 1945, he returned home to his parents' farm in Thomas, Idaho to help his mother harvest the crops and sell the farm. At the age of 17, due to the shortage of teachers because of World War II, he was asked to teach algebra, geometry, physics, general science and band for one year at Thomas High School. It was while teaching that he met Mary June Harkness, one of his algebra students. In the fall of 1946 he entered the Marine Corps where he served for 2 years. He completed his enlistment in 1948 and returned home. He married Mary June on May 20, 1948. In January 1949, Don and June returned to Provo. He enrolled at BYU to finish a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics. He graduated in 1950 and began a graduate degree in physics. While attending, he was employed at BYU teaching mathematics. In May 1951 he accepted a position with Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where he worked in research and development. In 1957 he was transferred to the Idaho Nuclear Reactor Testing Station in Arco, Idaho where he worked as a nuclear reactor engineer until 1974. The family lived in Idaho Falls, Basalt, Terreton, and lastly Hamer, Idaho during this time, raising children, cows and chickens on a small dairy farm. In 1981 Don returned to BYU to teach mathematics and work on his graduate degree. During this time he was employed by Signetics doing computer research and programming. His battle with Alzheimer's began during this time and progressed until his death on July 30, 2011. Don is survived by his wife Mary June of Enterprise, Utah; children: Arthur (Jeanette) Jones of Moses Lake, Washington; Patrick (Lanore) Jones of Monteview, Idaho; Susan (Kirk) Romney of Lehi, Utah; Isaac (Valerie) Jones of Enterprise, Utah; Donna (Brian) McCann of Gresham, Oregon; Rebecca June of Brewster, New York; Edna (Lonnie) Zeller of McCleary, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Judith (Paul) Tinker; 1 granddaughter; and 1 great-grandson. Donald and June are the proud parents of 8 children, 34 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way, as far as we know. Edward Earl Jones, born March 4, 1900 in Spanish Fork, Utah. His parents were Edward Thomas Jones and Margaret (Maggie) Jenkins. E. Earl Jones married Elsa Louise Keysor on June 10, 1931. Elsa was born on October 22, 1900 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. Her parents were James Bernard Keysor and Louise Ellis Felt. ~ ~ ~ ~ HIS OBITUARY: Dr. Edward E. Jones, 94, physician; Navy veteran, accomplished equestrian, died Friday, June 24, 1994, of congestive heart failure, at Bourne Manor Nursing Home, where he had been a patient for the past two years. Dr. Jones was the husband of Elsa Louise (Keysor) Jones, formerly of Salt Lake City, Utah, who died in 1991. They had been married for 60 years at the time of her death. Dr. Jones was born and educated in Spanish Fork, Utah and later moved with his family to Salt Lake City. He was a graduate of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City in 1923, where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. In 1925 he received his medical degree form the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in Philadelphia. He served in the Navy and interned at the U.S. Naval Base Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. He spent the remainder of his commission at sea on the SS Shawmut. He was a resident at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, where he began a practice as an associate doctor in 1929. In 1931, Dr. Jones began a private practice as an eye, ear, nose and throat physician with another physician in Brockton, where he was on the staff at both Brockton and Goddard Memorial hospitals. In 1946, Dr. Jones took a leave of absence to work as a resident physician at the San Diego Hospital in San Diego for a year and a half. He returned to Brockton and continued his practice there until his retirement in 1991. He had been a resident of Brockton for 57 years and had maintained a home on Daniels Island in Mashpee since 1960. Dr. Jones was a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society, the New England Otolaryngological Society and the American College of Surgeons. He was a consulting otolaryngologist to the U.S. Veterans Hospital in Brockton and the Lakeville State Sanitarium in Lakeville. He was an accomplished equestrian and spent much of his recreational time on horseback in Utah, Brockton and Cape Cod. He was predeceased by a son, Michael E. Jones, a well-known Cape architect who died in 1984. He is survived by a son, E. Thomas Jones of Cotuit; a sister, Margaret West of Hollywood, California; three grandchildren, Wendy Jones[0], Mashpee and Evan and Ben Jones, Falmouth; and many nieces and nephews in Utah and California. Source: 1946 BYH Graduation Exercises Program. ~ ~ ~ ~ Ella Montez Jones was born on December 7, 1927, in Provo, Utah. Her parents: Shadrach Cannon Jones and Ella Harris Jones. She married Charles Frederick Pulham on May 28, 1947. Unfortunately, both she and her husband died in an automobile accident on July 11, 1956 near Rock Springs, Wyoming. Charles had just completed work on his Doctorate Degree at the University of Nebraska and they were returning to Utah for a visit with their families. This wonderful couple were taken from us much too early but will ever be remembered from their work on the written history of Charles Alfonzo Terry and the compilation of the Pulham Family Letters of the War Years, which they compiled after hundreds hours of work researching, typing and printing, all at their own expense. These war years were trying times for everyone with Arch and his family being no exceptions. There is a very memorable book compiled a few years after the war by Charles and his sweet wife Monte which includes copies of all the letters between the different family members during the years between l941 and 1946. The accounts of the boys in combat to the descriptions of the dances and parties attended by the girls are fascinating and are all punctuated with some wonderful photographs. ~ ~ ~ ~ Her parents: Shadrach Cannon Jones and Ella Harris Jones, married April 13, 1926 in Nephi, Utah. He served a mission in Southern Australia from 1958-60; obtained BS and MS degrees from BYU and a Doctorate from the University of Georgia. Married Barbara Buss in the Logan Temple in 1963. They are the parents of five children -- Sandra Moana Jones-Jones (Brian W. Jones); "J" Clark Jones; Robert Tucker Jones; Quinton David Jones; and Patricia E. Parry (David Lee Parry). They currently (2005) have 12 grand-children. For 38 years, he was employed by the Church Educational System, serving first as a seminary teacher and principal in Salt Lake; three years as a teacher and administrator at the Church College of Western Samoa; eighteen years as an institute director/coordinator and area director in South Carolina, Georgia and Idaho. In 1983, they moved to Salt Lake City to work as a supervisor of reports and records for CES and then served seven years as an administrative assistant to the CES zone administrators, who service CES on a world-wide basis. He worked closely with Stanley A. Peterson, one of his 1955 BYU classmates who was the administrator of CES. During his last year of employment, he and his wife were sent to Samoa to administer the religious education programs and to build a new institute building (the first in the Pacific Islands) adjacent to the National University of Samoa on the island of Upolu. He and his wife then spent the next year in Samoa serving a mission - doing the same work. They returned home from their mission in 2001. At the present time (2005), he and his wife serve as ordinance workers in the Bountiful Temple. Steve has served in the Bountiful Temple since it was dedicated about 10 years ago, except for the two years spent in Samoa, where he also worked as an ordinance worker in the Apia Samoa Temple. He also serves on the high council of the Fruit Heights, Utah Stake. For several years, Steve directed the baseball/softball programs for youth in Fruit Heights City. He was honored by the city for his volunteer work as one of its outstanding citizens. In 1996, he was honored by the Coalition for Utah Families and presented one of four Governor's Family Awards by Governor Michael Leavitt for his outstanding volunteer work in the Fruit Heights/Kaysville Community. He also was a candidate for the mayor of Fruit Heights in 1993, but lost the election by 200 votes to a long-time resident. In 2002, he was honored by the Trapper Trails Council of the Boys Scouts of America and awarded a District Award of Merit for 25 years service to BSA. In 2003, he was awarded a Silver Beaver by the Trapper Trails Council. He currently serves as the Francis Peak District Advancement Chairman for BSA. Their children are now grown, with each of them now married. Sandi married Brian Jones, a local attorney, and they have four lovely children. "J" Clark married Jana Johnson and they have two wonderful sons. He works for Sinclair Oil Company. Robert joined the U.S. Marines out of high school and has served nearly six years, with several international assignments. He recently returned from Iraq where he served for seven months, and is in the process of moving to Pensacola, Florida to be an instructor. He and his wife, Anaise, have a son and daughter. Quinton recently married Jannelle Pacquing. This is a second marriage for him. They have a daughter and son. Patricia, our youngest is married to David Parry and have a son and daughter. Stephen". @2005 ~ ~ ~ ~ HIS OBITUARY: Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, "J" Stephen Jones, died peacefully on January 16, 2011. Steve was born on October 16, 1937, the oldest of 4 children, to "J" Petty and Rebecca Tucker Jones in Provo, Utah. Steve married his companion of nearly 48 years, Barbara Ellen Buss, on May 17, 1963 in the Logan LDS Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife, and children: Sandi (Brian) Jones, J Clark (Jana) Jones, Bobby (Jeri) Jones, Quinton (Janelle) Jones, Patricia Parry, his brother Mike (Joan) Jones, and sisters Catherine (Tom) Smith and Rebecca Shepherd. Steve is also the loving grandfather of 16 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was an active member of the LDS church and served faithfully in any calling he was asked to serve. Steve had a love for teaching and dedicated his life to teaching the Gospel, by both word and in example, to all those he came in contact with. Steve worked in the Church Education System for nearly 40 years, beginning as a seminary teacher, an institute teacher and director, and finally as an Executive Administrator at the LDS Church Headquarters. Steve's love for teaching was partnered with a love for learning. He graduated from BY High in 1955, earned a Bachelor's Degree and a Masters Degree from BYU, and his Doctorate of Education from the University of Georgia. He served LDS Missions in the Southern Australia Mission from 1958 to 1960 and with his dear wife in Samoa from 2000 to 2001. Throughout his life Steve looked for opportunities to serve others. He spent countless hours assisting in the community as a BSA Advancement Chairman, the Director of Baseball for the city of Fruit Heights, a temple worker in the Bountiful LDS Temple and the Apia Samoa LDS Temple. He also spent many hours attending BYU football and basketball games, fishing, working in his wood shop, serving his neighbors, and most of all, his family. It is an honor and a blessing to have lived with him, to have known him, and to be loved by him. A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary located at 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton Utah. Jones (twin), also BYH Class of 1949 (married Joan); and Joanne Jones, BYH Class of 1952 (married Robert Middleton). ~ ~ ~ ~ HER OBITUARY: Joanne Jones Middleton, 89, passed away August 16, 2023 in Cedar City, Utah. She was born October 19, 1933 to Shadrach Cannon Jones and Ella Montez Harris in Provo, Utah. She was the 6th of 6 children. Cannon, Montez, Robert, Jim, and a twin sister that was stillborn. Mom attended Brigham Young High School in the Class of 1952. Her best friend growing up was Diane Smith who lived across the street. Mom was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In High School, she participated in different singing activities and carried her singing on into her later life, until she had kids and realized she was the only one with that talent. After high school, she worked at different National Parks then landed at the Hotel Escalante in their accounting department and at the front desk. There, she became roommates and life-long friends with Annette Bauer. While both were working there, Donna and Cluff Jolley lined them up with two upstanding Cedar City men who became their husbands. Mom married Robert Francis Middleton on February 2, 1957 and started her farm life. She had grown up in the city so it was new to her. After living in town for a few years, they moved to Hamilton Fort so Dad could just walk across the street to work. Mom adapted well, feeding doggies, washing tons of vegetables every summer night and washing whatever off of the blue, brown and green chicken eggs. Before moving to the farm, she grew her family, Diane, David, and Michael who only lived 4 months. She was a great mom and took care of her family. We were always her first priority. For fun, Mom was in a bridge club with the same ladies for about 24 years. She was active in the Lady Elks and the Lady Woolgrowers. She was the mom that took my friends on trips before we became independent because she was fun. She taught me to love Soap Operas and how to make cookies. She never missed any sporting event David was in, scorekeeping in Little League and cheering him on through high school. She was an awesome grandma to all 7 of her grandkids, tending, shopping, watching them do their thing. If any of them were at all sarcastic, they got it from her. They all love her and will miss their chats with her. They are Danielle, Joe (Chezlie), Kade (Maddie), Rand (Tracy), Nathan (Candice), Amanda (Tyler), and Jeff (Tayler). She also has 20 great grandchildren. Many of them have fun memories of Grand Jo or the Old Old Grandma. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, all of her siblings and their spouses and her son Michael. She is also preceded in death by many dear friends that will be waiting for her. She is survived by her children, Diane (Kit) and David (Stacey). Thank you Mary, Sharon, and Janie for being such great friends and a very special thank you to the workers and caregivers at All Seasons care center. You made her life happy up until the very end. You are the best. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Viewing will be 9:30-10:30, funeral at 11 am. The viewing and funeral will be held at South Utah Mortuary in Cedar City. His parents were John Jones and Lizzie Jones. Lewis was a World War II Veteran. He married Della Rasband on September 19, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and they were later divorced. Della Rasband was born May 10, 1895 in Park City, Utah. Her parents were Frederick Rasband and Mary Elizabeth Hawkins. She died on April 18, 1993. E. Louis Jones died on November 8, 1965 in Glendale, California. Interment, Provo City Cemetery. ~ ~ ~ ~ Lewis Jones appears in a photograph of the BYH Commercial Class taken in 1909 -- 20 students all wearing identical outfits with a big "C" on their jerseys.

University, Book 8, page 241. ~ ~ ~ ~ Lorin Franklin Jones was born March 13, 1889 in Utah. He married Ivie M. Huish Jones and in 1940. She was born on March 9, 1891. She died on February 7, 1976. They lived in Las Vegas, San Miguel County, New Mexico and later in Roswell, Chaves County, New Mexico. Lorin Franklin Jones died September 1, 1975 in Salt Lake County, Utah. His interment, Provo City Cemetery, Provo, Utah.

Marion Jones married Virgil Harris in 1947. They moved to New York where he attended Columbia University. Following graduation, Virgil was employed by the CIA. The Harris family lived in Virginia, Germany, Uruguay, and Brazil. Following a back injury, Virgil retired, and they moved to Mesa, Arizona. They have four children and many grandchildren. Marion and Virgil have served a mission in Spain.
