*NOTE: These totals include BYH Alumni, Honorary Alumni, & Faculty and Staff (including Principals). The two categories of Trustee and BYAF Foundation Members were added after May 2005. In May of 2006, the Directory included 80 Trustees, and 34 BYAF Foundation Members, for a new grand total of 3,987.

The first review was done in May 2005, and a second in May 2006,
to see how much progress has been made.
1. Class Size & Honorary Members: Some senior classes list just over 60 members -- meeting the traditional BYH goal of 30 males and 30 females in each class. Yet others list more than 100 members.

This discrepancy involves "honorary" members. These are students who attended BYJHigh or BYH, but did not graduate with their BYH senior class. Why?

  • The families of the students moved, for professional or church service reasons.
  • The student went on to college a year early.
  • The student chose to attend a different school.
  • The student died prior to graduation.

    2. Email. This website provides a nice privacy feature for email addresses, so that email addresses are represented by an icon, and are therefore not recorded by search engines.

    • It probably should not be surprising that in some years, not all BYH graduates are pictured and/or listed in their yearbooks -- they apparently missed photo day.

    We hope one day to provide a fairly complete listing of graduates since the high school held its first classes in January of 1876, through the final commencement in June of 1968, and all classes up to and including the Centennial Class of 1976, who were in Fourth Grade when the school was closed.
